Beehive, the '60s Musical is all about the songs, the women singers and how deeply they
were influenced by social and political mores. They then influenced the newly awakening
generation just beginning to emerge from the straight-laced Eisenhower era to the
youthful charismatic Kennedy days. And don't think because you are an "X, Y or Z Gener"
you can't relate. These are classic songs you've found and heard on your own or were a
part of your parent's record collection. The greatest hits of pop music superstars of the
past, performed in the present by a hand picked cast of female talent. Relive those good
times and outrageous hairdos to the tunes of Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin,
Leslie Gore, Connie Francis, Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark and many more . Beehive is a
hot show guaranteed to lift your spirits and have you dancing in the aisles.

An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Riding Hood? A Prince Charming with
a roving eye? A Witch ... who raps? They're all among the cockeyed characters in James
Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn
they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest
for the special objects ( a cow as white as milk...a cape as red as blood... hair as   yellow
as corn... a slipper as pure as gold... ) required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and
stealing from Cinderella Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack. Everyone's wish is
granted at the end of Act One but the consequences of their actions return to haunt
them later, with disastrous results. A Giant steps down from the heavens and straight
upon some beloved characters. It takes a few lives before the survivors realize that they
have to act altogether in order to succeed. Thus, what begins a lively irreverent fantasy
becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our
children.
